Concept

Ginza Main Store

Ginza 8-chome, a 3-minute walk from the Ginza exit of Shimbashi Station. Our flagship restaurant serves lamb shabu-shabu in a calm, unhurried setting — equally at home for banquets, farewell parties, business entertaining or a quiet dinner for two.

AREA

Shabu-shabu in Ginza & Shimbashi

Ginza 8-chome (銀座八丁目) — three minutes on foot from the Ginza Exit of JR Shimbashi Station (新橋駅), and ten minutes from Ginza Station (銀座駅) on the subway. This is the southern end of Ginza, where the district runs down to meet Shimbashi, and we are on the third floor. Lamb Shabu KINNOME Ginza Main Store is a 50-seat house given over to shabu-shabu and lamb shabu-shabu. There is room here for most of the reasons people gather in Ginza: business entertaining, a department banquet or farewell party, an anniversary dinner for two. Table seats are screened from one another, and private rooms take parties of five or more. Banquet courses with an all-you-can-eat option are available. We open at 12:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays — lunchtime onwards — and at 15:00 on weekdays, serving until 23:15.

  • Close-up of a paitan pot against a yellow wall; bamboo chopsticks lift a single slice of lamb, with chrysanthemum greens and shiitake behind
  • Overhead view on white: the full course with a twin-broth pot of red mala broth, a platter of rolled lamb, fresh lamb served on a cutting board, a mushroom platter, Chinese noodles, salad and small dishes of condiments

FEATURE

What sets Ginza Main Store apart

KINNOME began here. The Ginza Main Store opened in June 2000 in Ginza 8-chome as the first restaurant of the brand, and it is still the only one of our four to carry the name honten — main store. The dining room is non-smoking throughout, with 50 seats built mainly around screened tables. Seated banquets take up to 50 guests, and a party of 50 can reserve the whole floor. Beyond the hot pots you will find lamb biryani, soup curry, roast lamb and a sashimi platter. Credit cards and cashless payment are accepted, and we are happy to discuss bringing your own drinks or a banquet running beyond two and a half hours.

HOW TO ENJOY

How to enjoy lamb shabu-shabu

First time? No need to worry. Here is a simple guide to enjoying lamb shabu-shabu.

STEP 1Heat the pot
Turn on the burner and warm the broth. If you are not sure how to use it, our staff will help.
STEP 2Swish the lamb through the broth
Hold a slice of lamb with your chopsticks and swish it quickly through the broth. Cook it only lightly, as overcooking makes it tough.
STEP 3Dip in sauce and eat
Dip the cooked lamb in sauce and enjoy. Try sesame sauce, ponzu or whichever you prefer.
STEP 4Add vegetables and other ingredients
Add vegetables, tofu and other ingredients to the broth. You can add them whenever you like.
STEP 5Finish with noodles or rice
To finish, add noodles or rice to the broth and enjoy the flavour of the broth to the very last drop.

Yes. We have private rooms with table seating, available for parties of five or more — screened, quiet seats that also suit business occasions.
How many guests can you seat?
There are 50 seats in total, and seated banquets take up to 50 guests. A party of 50 can reserve the whole floor.
Do I need a reservation?
We recommend it. Reserve online or by phone on 03-5568-8058. For private hire for 50 guests, please contact the restaurant directly.
Can I smoke inside?
The Ginza Main Store is non-smoking throughout.
What time do you open? Can I come at lunchtime?
We open at 15:00 on weekdays and at 12:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, serving until 23:15 in both cases — so lunchtime visits are possible at weekends and on holidays. We are open year-round, closing only over the New Year period.
Can I bring children?
Yes. Infants, pre-school children and primary-school children are all welcome.
Is lamb easy to eat if I have never tried it before?
Yes. At KINNOME we are particular about meat quality and ease of eating, so you can enjoy the umami of lamb rather than a strong gamey taste. We recommend it to first-time lamb eaters too.
